The AP0267 ballistic panels from the American brand Safariland offer HO2 ballistic protection and KR1+SP1 knife protection with certification and approval in accordance with UK HOSDB 2017 regulations.
The HO2 ballistic protection level exceeds a test in which it must stop 9mm bullets jacketed (FMJ) and hollow-point (JHP) from a distance of 5 meters and at 430m/s, with maximum deformation on the inner side of the panel (BFS) of 44mm. It is the highest level of protection for 9mm firearms in panels of this type under this regulation.
As for protection against knives and punctures, it has KR1+SP1 protection. To achieve this level, two tests are carried out: the first with an energy level of 24J, the maximum penetration for a knife (KR1) must be 8mm and for puncture (SP1) 0mm; for a single stab (SPL), the maximum KR1 penetration is 9mm and SP1 is 0mm.
The second test is the same as the first, but with 36J of energy; the maximum permitted levels are: KR1 = 20mm for maximum penetration and KR1 = 20mm for a single stab (SPL).
It has also undergone a V50 test with a result of 481.1 m/s, with maximum deformation on the inner side of the panel (BFS) of 12.6mm. In the V50 test, this measures the projectile speed at which there is a 50% chance of penetration.
It features a double heat-sealed, sewn, water-resistant cover. 10-year warranty from the date of manufacture.
