Ballistic Protection brand polyethylene ballistic plates are manufactured with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, stand alone. These plates resist rifles up to 7.62mm 147 NATO FMJ and AK47 MSC. They do not stop 5.56X45 mm.

They are tested and meet the standards established by the U.S. Department of Justice, NIJ-0101.06.

The carrier is made of 1000D Nylon, is tear-resistant and has a treatment that makes it resistant to UV rays and water.

Each plate has an approximate weight of 1.5kg, much lighter than ceramic plates, and dimensions of 25.5 x 30.5 cm, thickness of 3cm. The plates have a slight curvature to better fit the shape of the body.

The plate coating is made of a fire-retardant, flame-resistant material. If in doubt about which model to choose, it is recommended to buy the shooter cut plate pack with the upper corners trimmed as they are compatible with most plate carriers.

The manufacturer recommends the configuration be: front plate level IV of alumina stand alone with protection against sniper rounds and rear plate level III of polyethylene.

The most common arrangement is: level IV protection plate in front and level III in the back.
