Ballistic Blastshield B2 MILSPEC Photochromic Cerakote Glasses - Gatorz

The Blastshield B2 MILSPEC photochromic ballistic glasses from the American brand Gatorz are made in the United States and feature a CNC-machined aluminum frame with a Cerakote finish. This model incorporates a more wraparound lens that expands protective coverage without limiting peripheral vision.

The Inferno photochromic lenses automatically darken when exposed to sunlight and stay clear indoors. This allows us to use them in environments where we need to move from outdoors to covered areas, or when sunlight changes during our workday. Their visible light transmission ranges from 85 % - 15 %, with an approximate transition time of 60 seconds.

One of the new features of this B2 version is its lens ventilation system, which helps reduce fogging. In addition, the lower cut at cheekbone height is higher, making it easier to use with long guns.

The lenses meet the ballistic protection requirements of MIL-PRF-32432A, section 4.8.4, as well as the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2015 standard for high-velocity impacts (Z87+). They also feature anti-fog treatment, a scratch-resistant coating, and a hydrophobic/oleophobic treatment that helps repel water, oils, and grease. Their UV400 protection blocks 100 % of UVA and UVB rays.

The ICM (Innovative Clamp Mechanism) system allows us to change the lens quickly and easily. Its central attachment keeps the field of vision clear.

Finally, the frame features a Cerakote finish, a ceramic coating that provides resistance to wear and corrosion, protecting the aluminum during daily use.

It should be noted that activation of photochromic lenses depends on UV radiation and temperature, reaching a darker tint in cold conditions. Behind UV-filtering windshields, darkening may be limited.
