ANSI Z87.1+ MILSPEC Ballistic Smoke
A non-polarized gray lens that reduces intense light and enhances color perception. Recommended for sunny days and everyday use.
Visible light transmission: VLT 17%.

ANSI Z87.1+ MILSPEC Ballistic Inferno Photochromic
A non-polarized photochromic lens that changes from clear to smoke when exposed to UV light.

Recommended for indoor/outdoor transitions, day and night use, and changing light conditions.
Visible light transmission: VLT 15–81%.

MILSPEC Ballistic Smoke Optimized Polarized OPz with Anti-Fog

An optimized polarized smoke lens designed to reduce glare and improve visual comfort in bright environments.

The MILSPEC lenses feature an anti-fog treatment.

UV 400 protection.

The hydro-oleophobic coating repels oil and grease. The lenses block 100% of UVA/UVB radiation.

ANSI Z87.1+ protection

The Gatorz Revenant MILSPEC comply with the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 2015 standard.
This standard addresses impact protection and other hazards such as optical radiation, liquid splashes, dust and fine particles.
The impact test involves a 0.64 cm (1/4") steel ball fired at 45.7 m/s (150 ft/s), without the lens cracking, breaking or becoming dislodged.

MILSPEC ballistic protection

The MILSPEC ballistic lenses comply with MIL PRF 32432A, clause 4.8.4, for protection against ballistic fragmentation.
The test involves two impacts from a .15 caliber projectile.
The velocity is between 213 and 221 m/s (700–725 ft/s).
The lens must not crack, break or become dislodged.

Original lens and impact warnings

Removal or replacement of the original factory-installed Gatorz lenses:
This may cause the frame and lens combination to no longer meet the protection standards.
The standards concerned are ANSI Z87+ or MILSPEC.
This warning does not apply to the Gatorz ICM interchangeable lens system.
That system is specifically designed for lens changes by the user.
After a significant impact, the eye protection capabilities may be compromised.
This applies even if no visible damage is apparent.
Gatorz recommends replacing the glasses after any significant impact.

Photochromic lens notes

The following notes apply to photochromic lenses.

Direct UV exposure

Photochromic lenses depend on direct exposure to UV light.
If UV light is blocked, the transition may be affected.
For example, this can happen behind vehicle windshields or under caps.
Other items that prevent direct sunlight from reaching the lenses can also block UV exposure.

Temperature dependence

Photochromic lenses depend on temperature.
They may darken more in cold temperatures.
When UV light is blocked, they may not transition correctly.
