Replacement lenses for glasses Nighthawk from the German brand Swiss Eye are made of polycarbonate, offering simultaneously ballistic protection and protection against UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C rays up to 400 nm.

These ballistic lenses have been tested and exceed the following standards: EN 12312–1, ANSI Z87.1, EN 166 F, MIL-PRF-31013, MIL-PRF-32432(A), and STANAG 2920/4296.

  • 12312–1: European standard for sunglasses and eye protection equipment, which evaluates optical quality, impact resistance, and light transmission.
  • ANSI Z87.1: American standard for eye and face protection, which includes high-speed impact testing, particle resistance, and protection against chemical splashes.
  • 166 F: Requires that the lenses withstand high-speed particle impacts (up to 45 m/S) without breaking or releasing fragments.
  • MIL-PRF-31013: U.S. military standard that requires resistance to high-speed fragment impacts (impact with 3.8 mm projectiles at 198 m/s) and high levels of optical clarity.
  • MIL-PRF-32432(A): Updated specification of the previous standard, which includes more rigorous testing for durability, ballistic performance, and abrasion resistance.
  • STANAG 2920/4296: NATO standards that determine the ability to stop fragments (V50), that is, the speed at which 50% of the fragments penetrate the lens, used as a reference in personal ballistic protection.
