¿Puedo ser policía teniendo tatuajes?

Can I be a police officer with tattoos?

If you are considering applying to the National Police Corps (CNP), you need to know and meet the entry requirements.
Regarding tattoos, you should know that there are rules to be followed if you don’t want to encounter surprises during your attempt to join the force. Although tattoos are increasingly accepted and normalized, we detail them below so you can keep them in mind and always know what they are:

  • To find out how tattoos may affect your application, check the recruitment requirements for the selection process you plan to enter.
  • You may be asked about your tattoos during the interview.
  • The type and meaning of a tattoo may be relevant; having flowers tattooed is not the same as having a symbol of a particular ideology.
  • You cannot assume that concealing a tattoo under the summer uniform (short sleeves) will improve your chances of entry, or that visibility will automatically lead to exclusion.

As you can see, having tattoos alone does not allow you to predict whether you will be deemed suitable or unsuitable. Check the recruitment notice of the force you are applying to for the applicable conditions.

Good luck, and stay positive!
