Surefire EP4 Earplugs

The EP4 earplugs protect your hearing without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. Their triple-flanged stem design fits larger ear canals and provides a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24dB. Sounds at safe levels can pass into the ear canal, while potentially harmful noises (above 85 dB) are reduced through a patented design that incorporates a special noise-reducing filter. The EP4 includes attached filter caps that can be inserted for additional protection and block noise like that heard on an airplane. Made from a soft yet durable hypoallergenic polymer that provides all-day comfort and an extended product lifespan (up to more than 6 months, depending on use and care). Their patented EarLock retention rings secure the earplugs, while the soft, adjustable triple-flanged stems provide secure seals in the ear canals. A low-profile design means the EP4 can be worn while using a helmet or mask, or when using a phone or headphones.

They also serve as headphones for radio communication systems simply by removing the noise reduction filter and connecting the headphone to the system.

NOTE: The EP4 earphone no longer provides hearing protection once the noise reduction filter has been removed.
