The binocular NVGs RNVG (Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle) have a reinforced design, made of 7075 aluminum. a material that provides exceptional stiffness and strength, being 36% stronger than ordinary steel.
Each movable point of the glasses has been reinforced to increase their impact resistanceThe housing is made of a stainless steel, ensuring its durability in adverse conditions. The housing made of aircraft grade aluminum not only provides additional impact resistance, but also protects key contact points on the eyewear.
The lenses of the RNVG binoculars move along the bridge using inter-pupillary distance adjustment screws on each side, allowing the user to position the modules precisely over their eyes to obtain the best possible image. This feature ensures that once the inter-pupillary distance adjustment is set, it will not shift on the bridge, facilitating quick deployment of the glasses when mounted on a Wilcox G24 stand.
In addition to their superior durability, these glasses offer manual gain control to the user. This feature allows the brightness of the tubes to be manually adjusted by turning a dial on the goggles. The ability to reduce the brightness of the system reduces eye fatigue and helps the user retain more of their natural night vision. With the RNVG-VG, users can confidently face the toughest challenges in any environment.
This unit is mounted with US MILSPEC lenses, but other types of lenses can be mounted to reduce costs (OE), or RPO lenses, lighter, but with a higher price.
Each binocular is meticulously assembled, purged and tested one by one with precision tools. They must pass rigorous quality and strength tests.
Among many other tests, they are drop tested to meet MIL-STD-810G standards, which consists of 26 drops to a height of 1.22 meters (4 feet) onto concrete.
All intensifier tubes may have some imperfection in the image represented by spots of less than 0.3mm, usually there are only one or two visible imperfections, but these do not affect the vision as they simply blur with the image being viewed.
The FOM (Figure of metric) is a simple way to calculate the performance of a viewfinder, it is easily calculated by multiplying the resolution x the noise of the image we see through the viewfinder. The higher the FOM, the better the quality of vision.
Featuring Auto-Gating, this technology allows the device to automatically adjust the amount of light amplification in real time to adapt to changes in ambient brightness. This feature is particularly useful in situations where there are intense light sources, such as vehicle headlights or city lights, which could dazzle the device and affect image quality. This helps to maintain a clear and sharp image without compromising the user's vision in varying lighting environments.
NVTs have a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects, ECHO and ECHO+ have a 7-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
